This picture of a newborn baby boy was taken in my client's Pittsburgh area home.
When we are able to get your newborn session scheduled in the first two weeks, we can capture really simple and memorable posed photos.
In my experience, babies tend to rest, no matter the circumstance with relative ease for those first couple of weeks. This allows us to do posing that would otherwise be more difficult with a baby who is a little bit older.
This little guy was wearing a light blue onesie and is laying on a hand-knit blanket. I like to use subtle touches like a simple, clean, neutral colored blanket to rest your baby upon (which doubles as a background).
Technically speaking, I used a shallow depth-of-field in this photo. The cushions of the sofa provide a linear and geometric backdrop. This allows me to feature the baby all while subtly using the artistic elements of the sofa in the background.
