The first thing you notice is those beautiful dresses. These were probably worn to a special occasion, such as a wedding, and the family wanted a portrait of the girls in these beautiful matching dresses. Even the headbands match, are worn alike, and add to the festive feel of these special occasion dresses.
As a photographer, my job is to capture movement, connection, light and expression connecting the two sisters. As the children twirl their fancy dresses, they gaze at each other with delight, and their hands clasp. The beautiful dresses are highlighted, but that's not all there is to this photograph. The essence of these two little girls--and their connection to each other--comes shining through in this delightful portrait. Even with fancy princess dresses, my style of natural, clean, uncluttered, timeless and simple portraits still shines through.
