Milestone Child Studio Portrait in Mt Lebanon PA

The lady in red! What could be more perfect than this head-to-fingers portrait in red? This young girl brought the color with her when she came for her studio appointment at my studio in Mt Lebanon. A white background is perfect for the red dress, bow and even fingernails!

I never ask children to sit still in a portrait session. The best approach to child photography is to capture movement and activity, while still capturing priceless expressions, wonderful angles and great lighting. In this way, you enter the child's world, rather than asking the child to enter your world. That way, you get them at their natural best and most engaging.

Most parents ask me how to prepare their children for a portrait. My goal is to create a fun and happy environment for your child so that we will get genuine expressions and happy faces. I encourage parents to explain to children that they are going to have a fun day with the family and that a nice photographer is going to be there to capture all the fun! The session should be presented to the child as a fun activity, or as a treat, so I ask parents to avoid bribes and threats that may counteract the message that this will be fun and relaxed!

This little girl is clearly relaxed and happy, and enjoying her shoot. The result is a casual, relaxed and happy expression and body language.
