The styling of this casual lifestyle family portrait is what my portrait studio in Pittsburgh is known for. The family looks like they could just be out for a family outing in the park. I love the way that most of the family is dressed in shades of blue and pink without being matchy matchy; the eye goes to the lovely floral dress in the middle.
My style of photography is clean, timeless and modern.
Notice how everybody is posed without being "posey." It looks as if they are just walking along a rural path. Perhaps they happened to be walking by and stopped to say "hello." The expansive background gives the photograph and spacious feel. This photograph was taken in a rural area of Pittsburgh. It looks like it's in the middle of nowhere, but in fact it's right in the city.
The City of Pittsburgh and surrounding areas offer so many delightful outdoor settings that can be used for outdoor family portraits. I have used parts of Mellon Park, Schenley Park, South Park and Frick Park, as well as many settings that I just found on my own. Pittsburgh is known for its bridges, and many family portraits feature bridges in the background. Any interesting wall texture or natural setting can also work well.
