Baby Andra was born at the very end of August, just four days before the school cutoff!  Will she be the youngest kid in her class?  Yet to be seen!  Right now she is just focused on sleeping and eating mostly. This family lives right in my Mt. Lebanon neighborhood and I know mom from Mt. Lebanon Junior Women's Club, which I have been a member of for the past three years. Mom is an expert in all things design, some had their stunning home as a backdrop.  Big sister Kate was very sweet, holding and kissing her baby sister! During a diaper and feeding break, I got a tour of the gorgeous stone patio at this family's home. The nursery walls are black and the furniture is mostly white and neutral.  Very chic! Baby Anna Rose is a year already--that went by so quickly!  Her newborn session is here. We shot this family session at the Frick Art & Historical Center--dad is a board member, so we were allowed access to the gorgeous property for portraits, such a privilege! This lovely smocked dress was work by baby's mom in her 1 year portraits!  So nice when we can incorporate family heirlooms into new portraits! That mama hugs slays me, love it. Anna Rose did great as the sun started setting... though this is not usually the best time for babies at home, they usually can tolerate an outdoor session at sunset because there is a lot to look at!  Stopping for snacks is a must though! Baby girl is coming soon for Brittany & Phil!  We shot their session at a beautiful South Hills nature park in May of 2016.  We brainstormed some names for the baby... Phillipa, Philhomena, Phyllis... what do you think? Brittany is only about a month away from her due date now, and she looks gorgeous.  I love most of these portraits in color, but I prefer this one in black & white. Toward the end of our session the sun was setting, so I got some pretty hazy sun flare over Brittany & Phil.  I point my camera directly toward the sun for this type of image, but I use my hand to shade my lens while focusing... otherwise my autofocus goes a little crazy and can't figure out what to focus on.
