It’s so good to be back outside doing family sessions!! Thank you Mother Nature for this beautiful evening I spent with the Patel family!

I am a big fan of neutrals and was extremely pleased with mom’s outfit selections here… a great mix of textures but all in the same tone family. Lighter neutrals create a breezy feel in a portrait that I love!

2 year old Lena is a classmate of my son’s in preschool so I’ve already had a chance to get to know her before our session. She loves learning about whales and listening to opera music. Little brother Avi was a real trooper too–you can’t always get a 1 year old to cooperate for an evening session but it pays off in beautiful, warm light if they do!!

This is one of my favorite photos of all time–I just think it captures the two year old spirit so well, and her long, dark hair contrasts so beautifully with the backlighting. Love it!!

Baby Girl Quinn | Pittsburgh Baby Plan Photographer | 4 months old

What’s the most major accomplishment for a 4 month old? Rolling over! I saw this composite in my head as this was happening in front of me. So happy with how it turned out! This is being printed as a 10 x 20″ framed print for my studio!

Quinn was born in December, when I did her newborn portraits. She is now a beautiful 4 month old sweetheart! I will be seeing her again in a few months for her next Baby Plan session. 🙂

Quinn needed mama, so we finished up with these “over the shoulder” portraits.

Quinn’s daddy works at a local company called forever.com that offers “forever” photo hosting for your online albums. I am crossing my fingers that they develop a commercial license so I could offer this service to my clients! What do you think of this idea?

This week I am celebrating ONE WHOLE YEAR of running my photography business in Pittsburgh! Those of you who don’t know me well, here’s a little background… my family and I moved to Pittsburgh from Portland, OR in 2012 to be closer to family, since we had a then 1 1/2 yr old son, and our daughter Mimi was about to be born. I took some time off to find our Mt. Lebanon home and to be with my baby girl but then was back up and running a little over a year ago. Before we moved to Pittsburgh, I ran my business in Portland for several years, but I also worked in Portland as a public high school photography & fine art teacher. Now I am running the biz full time and could not possibly be happier! I have enjoyed great success and wonderful clients since moving here and am so very grateful for all of you.

I have worked with the Kingston family twice now–once for holiday portraits back in December, and so I was thrilled when they contacted me to photograph their three-week-old baby, Max.

Through the process of shooting and editing babies, I always fall in love with them!! Always! This little guy was flashing smiles at me, big ones, at only three weeks old.

Big sister Arden is full of life and energy and such a happy girl. She posed with her new brother, her Nana, and with Nana’s cat, who was in town visiting from the west coast.
